The summer heat causes excess sweating, oil production, and skin cell buildup, increasing the chances of clogged pores and breakouts. Skin cells are more likely to become stuck to the skin and less likely to be naturally removed during our skin's natural cellular turnover process.
How to manage our skin during warmer months
Be sure to cleanse your face twice to day to remove sweat, oil, and sunscreen. Stick to gentle products and exfoliants.
Use lightweight, non-comodegenic skincare and makeup products.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughtout the day, your skin and body will thank you!
Avoid popping pimples, this can spread bacteria which will lead to more breakouts. Try icing inflamed pimples for a minute during cleansing morning and evening.
Blotting papers! Not only do they effectively remove excess oil and shine, but they can also remove sweat. Gently pat them onto skin, avoid rubbing as this can lead to clogged pores.
